Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Barnacle Bucks.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Barnacle Bucks mobile application and related services ("Service"), which are owned and operated by Bright Barnacle Studio ("we," "our," or "us").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use Barnacle Bucks.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account.

Parents are responsible for supervising any children who use Barnacle Bucks through their family account.

Children may only use Barnacle Bucks under the supervision of a parent or authorized adult.

3. Family Accounts

Each family account is managed by one or more authorized adults.

The account owner is responsible for:

  • Maintaining account security

  • Protecting login credentials

  • Managing child profiles

  • Managing invited family members

  • Activities occurring under the family account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Barnacle Bucks for unlawful purposes.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account.

  • Upload malicious software or harmful content.

  • Interfere with the operation of the Service.

  • Upload offensive, illegal, or inappropriate images.

  • Reverse engineer or attempt to copy the Service except as permitted by law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. User Content

Parents and authorized family members may upload content, including chore verification photos.

You retain ownership of your content.

By uploading content, you grant Bright Barnacle Studio a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating Barnacle Bucks.

We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content.

6. Screen Time Management

Barnacle Bucks is a family organization tool.

Screen time balances, earned rewards, restored minutes, and related calculations are provided to assist families in managing household routines.

Parents are solely responsible for determining how screen time is awarded, redeemed, restored, or enforced.

7. Availability

We strive to keep Barnacle Bucks available at all times.

However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to:

  • Maintenance

  • Software updates

  • Internet outages

  • Third-party service interruptions

  • Events beyond our reasonable control

8. Account Termination

You may stop using Barnacle Bucks at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Abuse the Service

  • Threaten the security or integrity of the platform

  • Engage in fraudulent activity

9. Intellectual Property

Barnacle Bucks, its software, design, graphics, logos, trademarks, and related materials are the property of Bright Barnacle Studio and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Barnacle Bucks is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Barnacle Studio disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will always operate without interruption or error.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Barnacle Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of Barnacle Bucks.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use Barnacle Bucks during the twelve months preceding the claim. If you used the Service free of charge, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bright Barnacle Studio, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your violation of another person's rights

13. Changes to the Service

We may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features of Barnacle Bucks at any time.

When practical, we will provide notice of significant changes.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The updated version becomes effective when posted with a revised Effective Date.

Continued use of Barnacle Bucks after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Nevada, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
