Barnacle Bucks is designed for family use and is intended to be managed by a parent or other authorized adult. This Children's Privacy Policy explains how information relating to children is collected, used, and protected.

2. Parent-Controlled Accounts

Children do not create independent Barnacle Bucks accounts.

A parent or authorized adult must first create a family account before creating child profiles.

Parents control all information associated with their children within the application.

3. Information Collected About Children

Barnacle Bucks may store information about child profiles, including:

  • First name or nickname

  • Avatar selection

  • Assigned chores

  • Chore completion history

  • Earned screen time

  • Screen time redemption history

  • Optional chore verification photos

  • Application preferences

We collect only the information necessary to provide the features of Barnacle Bucks.

4. Chore Verification Photos

Parents may choose to require photo verification for specific chores.

When enabled, children may upload photos to verify chore completion.

These photos are accessible only to authorized members of the child's family and are used solely for reviewing completed chores.

5. How Children's Information Is Used

Information associated with child profiles is used only to:

  • Display assigned chores

  • Track chore completion

  • Calculate earned screen time

  • Allow parents to review completed chores

  • Synchronize information across the family's devices

  • Operate and maintain the Barnacle Bucks service

We do not use children's information for advertising or marketing.

6. Sharing Children's Information

We do not sell children's personal information.

We do not share children's personal information with advertisers.

Information is shared only with trusted service providers that help operate Barnacle Bucks, and only as necessary to provide the Service.

7. Parent Rights

Parents may, at any time:

  • View their child's information

  • Update child profile information

  • Change assigned chores

  • Delete uploaded chore photos

  • Remove child profiles

  • Delete the family account

Parents remain in control of all information associated with their children.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect children's information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

Although no method of electronic storage is completely secure, we continually work to protect the information entrusted to us.

9. Children's Privacy Laws

Where applicable, Barnacle Bucks is designed to support parents in managing their children's information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Children's Privacy Policy from time to time.

If significant changes are made, we will revise the Effective Date shown at the top of this document.
